Anamur is the most southern city of the Turkish Mediterranean Sea coast. The actual city is quite small and lies also a few to one side of of the coast. Here it closes rather quietly. In the environment, some bananas plantations, that form together a beautiful wing with the mountains of the Taurusgebirges, lie.
To be sure Anamur has a suburb directly at the coast. Here the actual attraction is: Mamure Kalesi, a medieval fort of the cross knights. The towers of Mamure Kalesi jut already of far visibly over the beautiful sand beach.
The first parts of the fort concern were erected in the 12th century. One can make an interesting walk through the impressive fort.
